Fire At Lexington Thoroughbred Center
A two alarm fire broke out at the Thoroughbred Center at about 8:30 this morning.
Officials say 63 firefighters and 32 units were at the scene. Lexington Police shutdown the outbound lanes on Paris Pike just before 9 a.m.
The fire broke out in the building that housed the tack room, leather shop, the chaplain’s office and a two-bedroom apartment. One woman was inside but did make it out safely.
Two people including a fire fighter were treated for smoke inhalation.
The blaze was extinguished shortly after noon today. Fire investigators will now begin work to determine the cause of the blaze.
