Richmond Teen Shoots Grandmother

A Richmond man identified as Jordan Payne, 19, is behind bars after shooting his grandmother Dorthy Gregory, 59, yesterday at her Estill County Home.

According to police the two had a confrontation at about 1:45p.m. at her Ida Grace Road residence that ended with the grandmother shot in the arm.

After the shooting Payne fled the scene and was later arrested in Richmond at a residence on Mocking Hill Road without incidence.

The grandmother suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Estill County schools were all placed on lockdown for about 50 minutes. According to Estill County School Superintendent Randall Christopher that delayed dismissal by about 40 minutes. No child was in danger
