4 Arrested In Richmond Raids

Yesterday 40 law enforcement officers raided three Richmond businesses that resulted in the arrest of four people on organized crime charges.

Kentucky State Police, Richmond Police and the Madison County Sheriff’s office raided the businesses after a tip from the Kroger Loss Prevention Department concerning Kroger products being re-sold at the convenience stores.

Police suspect the store owners have been buying and selling stolen property and fraudulently using food stamps.

Yesterday police raided the Quick Pick Shell Food Mart on Northgate Drive, Easy Stop and Shop Shell on Lexington Road and BP Gas Station on Lexington Road.

Arrested were Rangassami Rajaram, 35, he is charged with Engaging in Organized Crime and Know/Fraudulently Use ID Card or Elect Code for Benefits, Binod Adhikari,43, of Lexington, charged with Engaging in Organized crime, Shashi C. Adhikari, 49, and Laxman Khadka, 28, both from Lexington. They are charged with Engaging in Organized Crime.
