Teacher Sentenced To 1 Year For Student Relationship

A former Scott County Teacher who admitted to having an inappropriate relationship with a 15 year old student will serve one year in prison.

Elizabeth Alexander Elizabeth Alexander admitted to kissing and touching a 15-year-old in her classroom and she asked him to text her a sexually explicit photo.

Her lawyers wanted probation, saying Alexander has no criminal past and said jail would do nothing to help her.

The judge did not agree, saying even though Alexander had reconciled with her husband and had no prior criminals history, the community still placed trust in her as a school teacher.
