2 Escape Madison County House Fire

A Madison County couple is safe thanks to the fast action of a neighbor.

At about 9:30 Tuesday night a neighbor notice a garage fire at a home on Engles Drive.

Crews say neighbors noticed a fire in the garage and woke up two people who were sleeping in the house and they were able to get out of the home safely.

Firefighters were able to stop the blaze at the front porch of the home, however the garage and two vehicles were destroyed.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
