Richmond Man Arrested On Multiple Assault Charges
Richmond police arrested Eric Delany, 43, of Smith Ballard Street on multiple assault charges stemming from an incident that occurred September 9th.
Police say he entered a female’s home while she was sleeping, woke her up and shoved her before taking her cellphone.
Police say Delany then returned later the same day and kicked in the front door. He allegedly threw the victim to the ground, stomping and hitting her. He then drove off with the victim’s vehicle.
Police say the suspect returned to the residence for a third time where he held the victim and her minor child against their will. He also reportedly punched the victim’s dog causing significant bruising.
Delany was charged with first- and second-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault (no visible injury), fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) minor injury, theft by unlawful taking or disposition (all others $500 or greater but less than $10,000), theft by unlawful taking or disposition (all others less than $500), harassment (no physical contact), menacing, and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
He is lodged at the Madison County Detention Center.
