Valley View Ferry Closed After Possible Human Remains Uncovered

The Valley View Ferry is closed today as investigators complete a salvage operation that may have uncovered human remains.

Police report possible human remains were found Saturday as officials removed several cars from the river. The vehicles were discovered months ago but river conditions were unfavorable for the workers

At this time police say it is not clear if the suspected remains are connected with any of those vehicles or any particular investigation. Police report that testing still needs to be done on the remains, which could be a lengthy  process. 

The ferry will resume normal hours starting Thursday morning.
