Elderly Driver Indicted On 2 Counts Of Manslaughter
In Clark County, James Pelfry, 84, was indicted for a car crash back in June that killed two women and left one woman badly injured.
Police say the crash occurred on the Winchester Bypass at the Colby Road intersection. Pelfry was reportedly blinded by headlights and crashed into two vehicles stopped at a red light.
Two women in the same car, Sarah Helfrich, 62, and Juanetta Mitchel, 35, died.
A grand jury returned with an indictment for Pelfrey after police turned over vehicle data and reconstruction findings.
He faces two counts of second-degree manslaughter and one count of second-degree and one count of second-degree assault.
He was arrested last night and remains at the Clark County Detention Center.
