Four Arrested In Attempted Campus Burglary

An attempted burglary at the Grand Campus complex prompted EKU officials to issue a safety alert Sunday morning.

An EKU spokesman says that a report was made that the suspect said he had a gun and threatened to shoot the door.

During the investigation police arrested Zachary Beaton, Darious Bryant, Shyheim Lee and Dashawn Moncrease on burglary charges. Lee is also charged with criminal mischief and Moncrease faces additional charges of wanton endangerment and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

None of the suspects are EKU students.

An all clear notice was given about 30 minutes after the first alert.
