Madison County Sheriff’s Office Arrest Two for Trafficking Meth

According to Madison County Sheriff Mike Coyle, on Thursday, March 2, 2017 around 4:49 p.m., Madison County Sheriff’s Office Street Crime Unit conducted a traffic stop on Merchant Drive in Richmond for a traffic infraction.
During the course of the traffic stop, Deputy Jeff Bol and Deputy Kevin Crutcher conducted a search of the vehicle and its occupants. The search resulted in the seizure of approximately 56 grams of Methamphetamine, scales, a firearm, and $2500 in US currency.
Deputy Bol cited the driver of the vehicle, Peter Closs, for Failure to Wear Seatbelts and Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance 1st Offense.
Tony Pearson, 51, of Richmond and Rebecca Smith, 33, also of Richmond, were arrested and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine) and Drug Paraphernalia – Deliver/Manufacture.
Pearson and Smith were lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
