Richmond Police Arrest A Nicholasville Man On Multiple Drug Charges
Richmond Police have arrested a Nicholasville man after being called to investigate a suspicious person.
Sunday night, police responded to a residence on Battlefield Memorial Highway. The caller told deputies that a man identified as Dewayne Thacker, 41, was trying to climb a fence after threatening to kill her husband. When deputies arrived at the residence they were told Thacker had fled the scene in a blue Hyundai Accent.
Deputies located the vehicle at a nearby gas station. When Thacker exited the vehicle deputies say he had glassy eyes, slurred speech and constricted pupils and Thacker failed a field sobriety test.
During the arrest police found methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, numerous Tizandine pills, rolling paper, a needle and scales. He was also within 450 feet of Kingston Elementary school.
Thacker was charged with operating a vehicle on a suspended driver’s license, second offense operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, first offense first-degree possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, first offense trafficking in legend drugs and first offense first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
Thacker is lodged at the Madison County detention Center.
