16 Year Old Dies In 3 Vehicle Crash

A three vehicle crash in Montgomery County has claimed the life of a 16 year old.

Police say it happened about 7:30 a.m. on Levee Road, when a pick up crossed the center line.

A truck carrying logs was in the other lane and swerved to miss the oncoming vehicle, causing the load to shift, dumping logs on an SUV traveling behind the truck.

The 16 year old was a passenger in SUV and was killed by the falling logs. The mother identified as Tammy Smith, was driving and was seriously injured and is listed in critical condition.

The 16 year old was a student at Montgomery High School. A student resource officer was at the school for grief counseling.
