One Dead, One Wounded In Berea Shooting

In Berea, a domestic situation has ended with one woman shot an the assailant dead of a gunshot wound.

It happened when the victim was held against her will at a home on Guynn Road, in rural Madison County.

During the overnight ordeal the woman was shot in the arm.

She was able to escape early this morning and as she fled the scene heard a gunshot.

Police say the man was found by a neighbor, lying in his yard with an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The names of the victim or assailant have not been released and the incident remains under investigation.
