Irvine PD: Suspect Attacked Officer; Arrested

Officers have arrested a man after they say he led them on a pursuit through Irvine.

A release from the Irvine Police Department says that officers tried to stop a blue Ford pickup truck after they saw suspicious activity on Main Street.

When they tried to pull over the car, police say the driver, later identified as Marcus Singleton, sped up and drew officers into a pursuit through Irvine and into the Chestnut Stand area.

Singleton was eventually found back on Main Street, where he fought with officers while they arrested him, according to a citation.

Singleton was charged with wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, and assault of a police officer.
