Hiker Airlifted After Fall

A hiker had to be airlifted to a hospital after falling in Lee County.

Lee County officials called the Powell County Search and Rescue for assistance at around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, after a hiker fell near KY 52 near the Cathedral Church Camp.

The rescue team used low angle ropes and a stokes basket along with help from people at the camp to rescue the victim.

The hiker was airlifted for emergency treatment at around 6p.m. The hiker’s condition is not known.
