Pastor Wesley Delivers Sunday Sermon

Estill County pastor returned to his church after he was shot in Haiti on a mission trip. Bill Wesley, pastor at Body of Christ Ministries in Irvine, was shot in the leg. Wesley limped into church Sunday morning to preach his first service since the shooting and he is already making plans to return to Haiti.

Wesley was shot Tuesday while leaving a church service. His daughter and her friend were with him during the shooting, but were not hurt. He was flown back to the U.S. the next day for treatment. Wesley says that the shooters got away with sound equipment that was in the car during the attack, but he is glad no one was killed.

“We lived and we’re going back, so we’re just thankful for that,” said Pastor Wesley. Both girls are planning to return with him after his recovery.
