Silo Presents Challenge For Red Lick Firefighters

A Labor Day fire in Madison County presented some unusual problems for members of the Red Lick Volunteer Fire Department.

Monday afternoon firefighters were called to a a farm where a fire had broken out in a silo.

The first challenge was just getting to the fire. Firefighters had to cross several fields with their heavy trucks and equipment.

They were able to extinguish the blaze by drowning it from the top.

No injuries were reported and the cause remains under investigation.
