Firefighter Funeral Arrangements Finalized
Funeral arrangements have been finalized for Montgomery County Fire Captain Zach Clevenger who was found unresponsive by his wife hours after fighting a fire in Estill County, where he served as a volunteer.
Montgomery Fire Chief Larry Potter says his death is rough on his co-workers. “It’s a hard pill to take for these guys. When you live with people 24 hours a day, fight fires and you go through life and death, these guys are close, they’re like family,” said Chief Potter.
Captain Clevenger, 30, was an eight year veteran to the Montgomery Fire Department. He served as captain for the past three years.
Visitation for Clevenger will be held Wednesday at the Living Water Church in Mount Sterling. Family is invited from 4-5 and it will be open to the public from 5-9. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the same location.
