Estill County landfill may cause problems for Madison County residents
Radioactive waste that was illegally dumped in an Estill County landfill could also be a problem for Madison County. According to one magistrate, Roger Barger, the landfill where the waste was dumped is in the Kentucky River’s watershed. Most Madison County residents get their drinking water from the river. A group of Estill County leaders is planning a rally and news conference tomorrow, June 30, to call on state and federal government officials to address concerns related to the waste.
