Suspicious Actions Leads to Drug Arrest
Sunday evening Berea Police were called to a local hotel to investigate a suspicious person when they made contact with Daniel Smyth, 32, of McKee.
Police say that Smyth appeared unsteady, nervous and unable to figure out how to use the door key. During their investigation officers found two uncapped syringes and one capped syringe loaded with a brown fluid. Smyth told the officers the liquid was suboxone and water.
Smyth was charged with buying/possessing drug paraphernalia, first offense first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified) and public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol). He was also served a warrant from Jackson County for failure to appear.
He remains lodged at the Madison County Detention Center
